Thursday, September 17, 2009, 7:30 p.m.David Friend Recital Hall921 Boylston Street
Boston MA 02115 [Map]When Victor Bailey, the bassist who replaced Jaco Pastorius in Weather Report from 1982 to 1986, found a live tape of the hard-working group from back in the day, it forcefully reminded Randy Roos, Berklee associate professor of guitar, how original and fun that music was. This concert is a result of that encouragement and features new versions of the band's material. Its roots are in '70s fusion, but opened up and brought into this millennium. Bailey and Roos are joined by Berklee faculty member Steve Hunt on keyboards (also an original member) and Dean Johnston on drums.
